FAQ

When is Imagine’s Fall Festival?

Saturday, October 12, 2019, 2:00 – 6:00 PM

Where is it?

Outside Imagine Charter School, 5753 Twilight Avenue, Firestone, CO 80504. In case of rain, all activities will be inside and will still be wagon loads of fun!

Why are there wristbands?

A wristband is required for each person who participates in: carnival games, face painting, cakewalk, haunted house (2 -6 PM), mad science lab, bounce house, petting zoo, and dunking booth. There is a separate contest entry fee for the chili cook-off chefs. Concessions and baked goods will be available for sale separately and do not require a wristband.

What if I’m a parent/chaperone/relative, and I won’t be participating, just accompanying a child?

Entry is FREE to anyone NOT participating in the above “wristband-required” activities. You can purchase concessions and bake sale items… and, of course, relish the kids having a blast!

How much are wristbands – is there a student price and an adult price?

$12 each online/$15 each at the event, for all ages. They include all wristband activities listed above, as many times as you can do them. While wristbands will be available at the festival, you will save $3 each by purchasing online HERE.

How do I purchase a wristband?

Securely online HERE for $12 each, or at the festival for $15 each.

Can I purchase tickets for individual activities?

No. The price of the wristband makes it easy to purchase and play! Parents won’t need to count tickets, split them between kids, or risk losing them. Buy wristbands and stay and play as much as you like (until 6 PM, of course)!

How old do you need to be to enter the haunted house?

Children in elementary grades or younger must enter at the discretion of their parent or chaperone and will not be admitted without adult supervision. The intent behind the haunted house is to have spooky fun for people who like to be scared. However, scenes, costumed characters, and props may be too scary for young children or older children who are sensitive to frightening imagery.

Does the haunted house have rules?

Yes. Admission is with a guide only. The costumed characters are not allowed to touch participants intentionally. For your safety and that of the haunted house crew, we ask that participants do not touch the characters, sets, or props and stay with your guide at all times while in the haunted house. Your tour guide will tell you more.

Where is the haunted house?

Inside the school on the second floor. The darkness has taken over the second-floor music room! Travel up the southeast stairway (inside the main doors), take a right at the top, and go down the hall to the first door on the right. Please wait in line for your frightfully fun tour to begin. Imagine Charter Ghoul… er, School, may never be the same!

Are there two haunted houses?

There is one location for the haunted house (see above), but it will be open for two sessions. The haunted house is open to all wristband holders from 2 – 6 PM. It will close at 6 PM, when the scare factor will increase, and will then reopen to IMAGINE 6th – 8th GRADE STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS/CHAPERONES ONLY from 7 – 9 PM. The same rules as stated above apply. Entrance will be monitored.

What is a mad science lab and where is it?

We are exploring the science behind the screams. Whether you want to feel some fresh “eyeballs” or know what happened to the brain our scientists have removed, have some hands-on, icky fun in the mad science lab! Don’t worry parents, there is nothing dangerous in the lab, which is located upstairs inside Imagine Charter School right beside the Haunted House. Travel up the southeast stairway (inside the main doors), take a right at the top, and go down the hall to the second door on the right.

How does the chili cook-off work, and when is it judged?

Amateur chefs: sign up in advance and pay a $20 entry fee. Make your favorite chili recipe and bring the finished product. If you would like to offer samples to guests, make sure to bring plenty and keep it warm. Judging happens at 5:30. Samples will be available while they last. Winners will be announced at 6 PM. What is a cakewalk, and when is it?

It’s delicious musical chairs! Ours is a “cupcake walk.” Be the last wristband holder in the game, and win a cakey, tasty prize! Competitions will be ongoing during the festival or until we’re all cupcaked out.

When is the bake sale?

The bake sale starts when the festival starts. Come at 2 PM to get your first choice of breads and decadent treats. Supporting education never tasted so good!

What concessions will be available? Who gets the money?

Snacks, candies, hotdogs, nachos, and FRESHLY POPPED popcorn will be available for sale, along with a variety of drinks. Concessions proceeds will support the France Trip happening next year.

I can’t make it to the festival exactly when it starts, is that ok?

Sure! Join us anytime between 2:00 and 6:00 PM for autumn amusements!

Why are you having a festival and what does it support?

As a public charter school located in Firestone, Colorado, Imagine Charter is an integral part of the community, and we want to get to know our community members! By hosting the Fall Festival, we are not only encouraging interaction with our friends and neighbors but also supporting the special programs at Imagine that are not found in many other public schools. Students who participate in Vex Robotics, Odyssey of the Mind, and the upcoming France Trip are helping with the festival to raise money for their programs, as well as numerous teachers and staff members, to keep Imagine’s top-notch educational opportunities going strong. Thank you for being part of something meaningful. We hope you enjoy this great community event!
